COMPANY | History

In May 2003 Martin Strothmann, together with his partners, founded an Investmenthouse and a shipping company in Hamburg, which assumed management of the ships held in the ownership of the investors. The nautical and technical management was in the beginning subcontracted to third party companies.

In November 2003 the product tanker “PORT LOUIS” of 38,000 tdw, was taken over as the first ship under the company´s management. Two additional product tankers of 38,000 tdw and four product tankers of 47,000 tdw each were taken over in 2004.

The year 2005 was noteworthy for the entry in bulk shipping: three Superhandymax bulk carriers of 53,000 tdw each were commissioned.

In 2006 Martin Strothmann sold his shares in the Investmenthouse-subsidiary and took over the shipping company. In the same year, two more Superhandymax bulk carriers were commissioned, followed by the sixth bulk carrier of the same type in 2007.
